If that’s not true, I think I just came up with that as a little kid to explain the gap in their relative maturity. Never really considered they could be gay, I guess because all the gay couples in my life as a kid were… idk, pretty dang healthy?

I think I had the impression that they were brothers when I was a kid. The constant bickering was very reminiscent of my lived experience lol.
I think that personality difference is beautiful for a couple, though. The aspiring constant optimist and the begrudging realist.
They were like life partners to me as a kid. Or like enmeshed roommates.
I greatly prefer old married couple now I’m an old married couple though!
