Sail the high seas.
So make the game devs and workers unemployed? Thatās your solution to workplace abuses?
Theyāre already unemployed. And the rest will be unemployed once development is deemed ādoneā, as is the industry standard.
Pirating a game still supports the release by becoming a common topic.
If you want to protest, ignore the developer and their every game. Otherwise you still use their product and help with marketing.
damn I feel like the real weirdo in this thread , if I want to play a game I buy it on epix or steam and maybe in the future gog . I used to pirate back in the day, but I quit that. I want to support the people that make my life fun. I realized later in life.
People are specifically suggesting that this game be pirated due to rockstar being shitty to its employees. I would imagine the majority of people on Lemmy do buy their games, probably a lot more through steam than epic though.
I think your average Linux user does want to give game creators their fair share. But they would like to withhold from those that take away from others.
I more or less stopped pirating games after moving my PC to Linux full time.
Like I needed another reason to hate this company. Fuck Rockstar and their shitty labor practices and that fucking launcher too!
Take Two is probably even worse, fuck them too
I hope their big release gets cracked and pirated on Day Zero
I have still yet to own a computer (across about 4 entierly different PCs) that the steam port of GTA 4 runs on, and now afaik it doesnāt run at all due to a licensing thing.
Iām running it fine thru proton on Linux. I played it a few months back.
Other than the limiting the frame rate on only the final mission due to a bug, it worked great.
They offer me a job a while back and thankfully I turned them down. Their compensation offer was so crappy I was offended. Like $20k less than the minimum I told them. I told them it wasnāt even close and I was frankly offended, they came up like $5k, so I told them to kick rocks. Looks like I really dodged a bullet.
Itās all fun and games until it becomes a corporation.
Because obviously a corporation isnāt about cooperating, but the top exploiting the bottom.
Gross misconduct has no specific definition or limits. A company is free to decide that union activity constitutes gross misconduct, so this isnāt a denial. Itās just a way of saying āadmitting that would get us sued.ā
