If this was about the military and leadership, these sort of things would be limited and sparse. Just like Palestine, this is going to end up being another genocide. Kill the kids, kill the women, kill their means of family planning and any infrastructure that allows the propagation of people the US and Israel consider undesirable. It’s so fucked. When I was in, the military attempted to avoid collateral damage and unintentional casualties to a) prevent non-combatants/civilians from radicalizing against us and b) to preserve life. They allowed relief aid to supply the local population with the means to survive.
These two nations are using war for its cruelty. That’s why tRump and his regime can’t provide any solid reasoning for the attack. When the point is to distract and cause maximum harm and cruelty, you don’t really need any other excuse for it. Anything else they say is just a lie.

Yeah I grew up with the Afghanistan and Iraq wars suffocating US culture and during those decades what military minded people would talk about over and over again was how to fight a counter-insurgency and no matter how batshit crazy your rightwing beliefs are if you consider the objective of war to be fighting a successful counter-insurgency you do actually have to talk about getting the general population to like you that is harboring the insurgency.
I am no defending COIN, I am not saying these strategies were that successful but undeniably there was a structural, organizational interest in applying lethal force in a way that didn’t immediately catastrophically backfire. Every battle is a chance for either your side or the other side to decisively affect how the general populace in an area thinks of you, and you win by maximally exploiting that, the fact that this kind of thinking has been utterly abandoned by the US military and ESPECIALLY the IDF (*if the IDF ever even did these kinds of things? Which I doubt…*) is one of the most genuinely scary developments in my life surpassed by only the continued acceleration of climate change.
The fact that the general US populace sees the former professionalism of the US military and the unmitigated genocidal behavior of the IDF murdering Palestinians like they are passing out candy with no thought or regard for the humanity of the victims as roughly equivalent is a solemn, deep insult to service members who proudly adhered to a culture of consistency and adherence to accountable structures for the authorization of military force in the US military (*as imperfect as that ideal may have been in practice, it existed which cannot be said for the IDF or the war with Iran we are now engaged in*).
We can just start calling it “Usraeli”
Jfc they need to change that banner at the top
Edit: oh, it changed. Before, it said: “ignite a child’s education” and showed West asian females
