Loving all the Easter eggs in this. Bob Loblawโ€™s Law Blog, rats drinking and playing darts, beaker, my little pony tattoo, kpop demon hunters jacket, other guy up the tree, kid trapped in the window, all 50% off signs now 50% offโ€ฆ the detail is wild and Iโ€™m here for it - bet thereโ€™s heaps more too.

Yeah! The dude in the bar is wearing a hat that says UTI lmao

Church of Love with a list of people that canโ€™t come inโ€ฆ

Money rapture, Tuesday potluck. They know they ainโ€™t getting called to heaven.

@PugJesus@piefed.social Theyโ€™re only upset that the policy affected a single person. Other than that single individual they see as human, theyโ€™re cheering.

And Carol is a worthy sacrifice for the potential to hurt the people they want.

Ladies and gentlemen, you must understand that the problem is far more severe than many believe. For many voters, this is not a matter of choosing a better candidate. Most of the time, they do not know who they are voting for, or why. They vote by party alone: Republican or Democrat.

The ballot is divided along party lines, and they simply proceed down the list, checking every box for their chosen party.

They fail to comprehend that they are voting for individuals who act against their own interests. They assume that new Republicans are better than the old ones, without evidence or understanding. This is a profoundly failed system, and its dysfunction is self-evident

The median voter is batshit insane. This has been true since ~1787.

The best argument against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with an average voter.

And the best argument for democracy is a 5 minute conversation about every other form of government.

To paraphrase Churchill. Democracy is a terrible system of government, shame itโ€™s the best weโ€™ve created thus far.

Wow, thatโ€™s one of the worst paraphrasings of his quote that Iโ€™ve ever seen.

To paraphrase Socrates, The only true wisdom is youโ€™re dumb.

That weโ€™ve tried so farโ€ฆ

Donโ€™t lose hope. There still may be better options yet to come.

Only that we have republics and not democracies.

@krashmo @LodeMike

None

So many people were frustrated at Obama for not doing enough about immigration. Obama, the president with the record for most deportations - one that Trump failed to break on his first term.

The crash out phrase was โ€œWell, he apparently didnโ€™t do such a good job if they keep coming back!โ€

There are only two ways to stop people from trying to come back. One: Make the whole world a better place so people donโ€™t need to come to America. We tried that with USAID. They did not like that.

Anti-immigration voters took option two: Make America a horrible, horrifying place that murders innocent people in the street. (And no, that did not start this week)

Option three is: Donโ€™t give a fuck, release your racism. That is, of course, worlds beyond their racist minds.

We didnโ€™t try option 4: build the wall.

You know, the wall that was going to prevent the dirty Mexicans from coming in, and that Mexico was going to pay for. That one that would actually cost about $100 billion to build, but almost none of it was actually built because itโ€™s such a ridiculous project? Oh, and the same one that didnโ€™t actually stop people, because they were just bringing a ladder and some ropes and climbing it?

(Point being, the US / Mexico and US / Canada borders are so incredibly long that itโ€™s basically impossible to secure the entire thing and stop determined people from entering the US illegally, so the only real options are to try to prevent them from trying, which comes down to the above two options.)

I remember that, and its failure, and itโ€™s why I didnโ€™t even bring it up as an option; but the reminder on history is appreciated.

Just a comic, but there is something to this. I think it comes down to what you see as an exception and what you see as the rule. Carol might be the โ€œgood exceptionโ€ for them, while โ€œThE mEXiCaNS!,โ€ in general, are evil and eat pets or whatever. Maybe Carol was even the โ€œIโ€™m not a racist, my friend is mexicanโ€ friend.

I even have people in my life (not that I chose to) who are immigrants themselves, came to my country for economic prosperity, and now hate new immigrants.

This comic is about Republicans not breaking their ranks over minor issues like economy or immigration. Trump can destroy the country but they will still vote Republican because voting Democrat is not an option for them.

My comment was about why they donโ€™t see voting Democrat as an option

โ€œThe law holds that it is better that 10 guilty persons escape, than that 1 innocent suffer.โ€

- William Blackstone, 1769

Apparently, they didnโ€™t get the memo.

Why Beaker hiding in that tree tho

No questions about the rat playing darts tho

Bars are where you play darts. What is there to question?

And treeholes is where you hide.

My preferred outcome isnโ€™t that these people now vote differently, itโ€™s that they never vote again. I donโ€™t want them to be banned from voting. I just want them to have the realization that they were completely conned and that everybody who tried to warn them was right. If theyโ€™re that easily misled about basic facts, the world would be better off if they never voted again.

They lack any capacity to care about any injustice unless it DIRECTLY effects themselves.

But if the rapture is on Monday, whoโ€™s going to the potluck on Tuesday?

Same bewilderment as adherents to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_materialism express for the behavior of Democrats.

Regressives. Its regressive behavior to never change for the better.
