Giving one of my neighbour’s friendly bees a stroke. They swarm every once in a while and I stand out in it with 15000 bees. They’re very chill. The only time I’ve ever being stung was when we had uncovered an ant colony in the garden, and the bees swarmed and whatever happened with the pheromones in the air they weren’t happy at all.
I don't know much but I know that house has a pot of gold 😁

Out of the corner of my eye I saw it, a little castle on the hill. At least, the notion of a castle in ‘26, which is radio antenna with chain link castle walls around it, and a keep to send messages out with, into that sumptuous and rolling sky.
What can I say? I like big, broad, sweeping cityscapes. Especially the city I live in, the city I fell in love with. This shot was a bit of a challenge cause I wanted a thirty second take, to get that impossibly smooth river water. Back when I had actually shot it in May, I had a variety of takes that I was looking at for a while, endlessly dissatisfied with them, slammed my laptop shut a few times cause I couldn’t just bring forth anything resembling art. It’s good I sat on it for a bit, cause I like this result.
🕷️ Garden Cross Spider embalming its dinner. Loved these as a kid, thinking they were somewhat smooth—nope. A macro lens is among the best things I ever bought.
Opened in 1846 on The Mound in the Old Town, the neo-Gothic towers and the central staircase to the Assembly Hall do most of the heavy lifting. The lone figure in the trench coat walking through the arch framing was clearly hired for scale.
Something different than my usual, that’s for sure. I have the hardest time shooting people cause they’re really hard for me to look at, but I’m trying to practice and to buff up that portraiture skill a bit.
I know you like wild flowers, but did you know the cool wildflowers flower on the water 😁

This is probably one of the most cliche pictures I’ve ever taken, and yet there’s still something about the soothing comfort of a grand mountain. It took me about an hour of messing with it to get it just right. This was originally shot back in June, but for some reason I missed posting it back then, so here it is now.
An interesting find from this weeks paddle boarding adventure.
A pair of mismatched boots standing on a cliff, but they were the same size if you're in need. And they did kind of look like they were waiting for someone to come pick them up... 🤔😁

This is a woodlouse I saw drying off after being caught in a downpour and struggling through the water. They’re land-dwelling crustaceans, so have gills on the underside of their rear legs that get filled with water and debris. He stayed like this for maybe 20 minutes.
A little wildflower by a pool of water on an island, with and without dog, depending on your preference 😜

This was an interesting troupe of musicians, with battery powered self-made electronic instruments, and cloth masks. Wonderfully noisy in the best possible way.
It’s been a hot minute since I submitted art. Thank you for being patient with me. I’ve been sitting on this for two months and just forgot to post it.
I can see why people made the connection to squirrels with these hyperactive little guys. They absolutely do not hold still, which provides quite a challenge.
Well, alright. I wasn’t going to post these guys yet but I put one of my pictures in a comment in the other lemurs post. So fuck it, we’re doin’ it live.
I do not, as a general rule, edit my photos. Not out of any desire for artistic purity or anything, nor will you ever find me spouting any wine snob buffoonery using fancy words like “intentionality,” or “authenticity” or whatever. Rather, this is because by and large I cannot be arsed. If you ask me the whole point of having spent the money on all this crap on my vest is so I can use my camera to take reasonable photographs to begin with.
I was at the zoo today, enjoying the ineffable smug satisfaction of rocking up next to the crowds of people all pinching at the screens of their iPhones and frowning while I pull out this fuckin’ thing.

I went back to my old high school 23 years later. Place is run-down a bit but still functioning. Didn’t really go inside. Stood in the locations I still have flashbacks to.
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but if we can't behold the beauty in this I'm not sure we can be helped 😁

I wanted to try this one again, now that I had an opportunity to get back to where I shot it the first time, a few months ago. With better kit and fewer reflections, and timing my subtle infiltration into an apartment building I don’t live in, I was able to capture this in a few quick seconds. I think I’m done with this concept and will chase other styles. I just wanted this to match my interval visions first.
I think that if I were the type to give actual titles to my works, this one would be something like “The Glorification of The Last Zamboni.” The mood at the funeral for the Lloyd Center was such that the audience was cheering for even just the zamboni driver, making his laps and giving high fives as he went by. Despite this event being ten days in the past now, it’s still something I’m reflecting on. To a lot of people in Portland, Lloyd Center was a venerable, long-standing, good third place.
A brewmaster brewing beer at local brewery club about 2016, boiling mash in a large kettle. I used to go to this club in the 2010s, and I still come by from time to time. To those who hasnt tasted it, homebrewed beer (may) taste better than the ones you buy in the shop or bar.

This was the second attempt. At first I encountered a bit of an unexpected challenge, which I could have predicted if I’d thought about it. I took my cold camera out of my nice air conditioned house into the misty dawn and… Yes, my lens fogged up.
