Even though the country wasn’t so bad after Dabya, imo it’s honestly where it all went wrong in the modern era. And it all started with a corrupt person who should have stayed in the private sector.
Katherine Bigalow is one of the best. This was pretty intense thriller. The story unfolds in Rashomon style. You get four distinct perspectives on the same 20 minute event. It starts intense and never lets up.

I’ve enjoyed some of Akira Kurosawa’s works (Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Ran, Seven Samurai, Rashoman), and The Hidden Fortress is on my list, but I’d like to hear any of your suggestions for samurai cinema.

I just read Mark Kermode's book about The Exorcist and really enjoyed it, finding new appreciation for the film. Any recommendations for books that have elevated a movie for you?
I just watched the “domestic” directors cut of this, It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it so I’m not sure what’s really different. It really doesn’t matter cause it’s such a great movie.
