So long and thanks for the memes.
Salutes you

You either die a lolcow or live long enough to become a meme. You did the latter.
Enjoy your time off, you really earned it.
I don’t think I’ve ever commented on you but wanted to say I’ve never thought of you as a lolcow
there’s always been some nasty people under your posts, but in all honesty, fuck em. for one, I’ve always earnestly enjoyed reading your hijinks
please look out for yourself o7
I’d categorize you more as a horseback Jesus than a lolcow. Lolcows face more derision.
Some positives may come from you sharing your experience. It may help someone going down a similar path to recognize it in themselves earlier and help them out. Wishing you the best!

I wish you all the best 😌
I’ve dealt with this kind of depression before. You need to balance between “productive” sources of pleasure and generically fun, easy , meaningless sources of pleasure.
“Productive” pleasure doesn’t mean you have to start a side hustle, just something more memorable and meaningful thank a quick hit of pleasure.
For me , the most minimal version was instead of playing randomly generated rougelikes, it was playing 3d games with a plot I had to pay attention to, or a film I had to pay attention to.
Obviously, the more involved and challenging the pleasurable activity is, the more you feel like you’re growing yourself as a person. But to get the ball rolling you can try that. Then you can work on developing a skill, like painting, or music or something else. Maybe you want to learn a sport.
For me I worked up from playing Fallout: New Vegas, to playing the guitar more, to programming personal projects.
You can look this up more/talk about your therapist about : Eudaimonia and hedonism
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eudaimonia
I feel pretty fucking lost too. You will get through this.
Talk to friends and family if you can. Try therapy if that is an option.
Nothing is a magic pill but slowly working on it will help with time
Self care is important, and by recognizing that you were spiraling you’re doing better than most. Hope you get the help you need to be healthy and happy.
Good luck out there violet!
Good luck homie, hope you find what you need
I hope you find the peace and balance you are looking for. Please know that I think most people here really appreciated hearing about your whacky antics; they often brought a bit of sunshine to an otherwise dull day.
Godspeed.

Don’t beat yourself up too much over it. It’s easier to see with hindsight, and at the time you had other priorities which were just as valid to you at the moment.
Never too late for that. Pretty much everyone I know has skipped years or restarted in life. It happens.
why did you decide not to go this year?
what were your plans instead?
and why do you feel those plans aren’t working out for you after all?
For what it’s worth, I went to college before I was ready and it didn’t do anyone any favors. I think college only helps form structure for those that already have a good foundation for it; there’s so much freedom that if you decide to just fuck off and do nothing, there’s generally no repercussions until you’re failing the class you presumably paid to attend.
If you go into it planning to use it as a tool to help build structure and find a purpose on your own, it can be good. But it’s not like the military or something where they’re going to force you to comply. I spent most of my freshman year in college sitting in my car in the parking lot because I had other stuff going on and I was too stressed out / anxious to go to class. Then took nearly 5 years to rebuild the courage to go back. If I just waited a year to sort my shit out before trying to go to college fresh out of high school, I probably would’ve had a degree by the time I started the second time.
I never got to go so if you do get in sometime please consider mentally doing it for both of us, thanks.
Well, that’s OK Violet, take your time and get your mind right! Mental health is important.
The most important thing is that you take care of yourself. I’m glad you’ve recognized that you need help. I hope you have a safe journey home. We’ll still be here when you feel ready to return!
So long and thanks for all the
fishmemesYou’ll be missed! I’m super glad you’re taking steps to take care of yourself. Being young today is hard. Go be fearless offline. We’ll probably all be here when you come back 🖖
At least some lucky Korean dad got some womenade from all of this.
Thanks for the memes! Goodluck on your journey.

Forgiveness is the scent of the Violet beneath the heel that crushed it.
The fragrance indelibly imprinted in memory.

Bye forever see you soon
Just remember that you deserve good things!
Sorry to hear you’ve been struggling this way. I’ve never thought of you as a lolcow, just a recognizable poster. Hopefully going offline, heading to university, and going to therapy will help you find some peace for yourself. No shame in what you posted IMO, try not to be harder on yourself than anyone here would be
It was truly an honour to have you here, may your future hold nothing but happiness for you
Good luck Violet! Thanks for making the fediverse a more interesting place.
