Every since then it is specificly illegal to ban residents located in fort gay from online services. Also known as Moore’s Law

That’s the one where the gay population doubles roughly every two years, amirite?

Peter Assegieg had to change his name to get on the ballot!

Not gonna lie, Pete BUTTigieg does sound like a stereotypical gay character in an 80s sitcom.

In October 2020, a paleontology conference’s virtual meeting platform blocked various words including “bone” (…)

There’s a lot of gems here

Buttbuttinate sounds like one of those stupid censored words like unalive, grape…

Can also do this with buzzwords the media likes to use, like the “cloud to butt” extension, or force to horse

In the current headline writing about politics, I’d love to se a “slammed to fondled” one

I seem to recall this kid getting banned from facebook bc his real name was batman suparman

I see this all the time in Elden Ring. So many players want the word “Knight” in their name but it just ends up rendering as “K*ht”. Also the substring “ho” comes up a lot and is censored.

Two or three services blacklisted something in my username, Lyra Lycan. To this day I never found out what, why or which language

Took me a very long time to understand why my go to, Scooter, was being blocked… extra harsh filter catching “cooter” was the culprit. Only discovered because something just * the string so my name was S

These days they won’t let knights say Ni

In October 2004, it was reported that the Horniman Museum in London was failing to receive some of its email because filters mistakenly treated its name as a version of the words horny man.

There are a lot of gems in the article.

Haha this is what I see. (I really need to move away from .ml I know)

Lol, a perfect example.

One of the legit uses of AI is moderation that goes beyond string pattern matching.

All this fucking censorship needs to stop.

The current future outlook of the internet is bleak. Everything will be controlled by a dozen companies and all content must be appropriate for teens

Where I live, there used to be an Officer Gay in our police. He retired a while ago, but just imagine the possibilities. There was graffiti. Soo much graffiti.

Like, this was a legitimate word, once, used for names and such.

The Flintstones theme song….

"We’ll have a gay old time"

That’s why Fred and Barney didn’t wear pants!

And neither did Wilma or Betty come to think of it.

This reminds me of the recent removal of the Enola Gay in US government history archives because LGBT+ is DEI.

Forgetting that gay not only has multiple meanings, but only predominately referred to homosexuality in the 1980s.

I remember looking it up as a kid. 1970s era dictionaries did not include the present definition.

That’s an absurd word to ban in a swear filter anyway.

Fun fact, Google, Google Maps and Wikipedia all existed in 2010. All they had to do was spend an entire 10 seconds, less than the time it took to suspend the account, to find out it was a genuine location.

They knew it was a real place. They knew the filter would ban people based on real, actual names. They also knew making the filter better would cost more money than getting sued a few times.

And when it was appealed you would think the first thing the reviewer would do is search the net. Wild that it even got that far.

Yeah, but where’s the fun in that?

Hahaha I wonder if they did the same thing with anyone from Dildo, Newfoundland

No way. I live in a lttle hamlet called Filthy Cumslut and the same thing happened.

Such a beautiful name shouldn’t be tarnished by bigoted corporations

So if you were having a same sex wedding would you drive there just to send out invites so that the postmark read “Ft. Gay”

Gayming history at its finest!

At least its not Cockermouth

He fort for the gay

I frot gays all the time

Get doxxed by Wikipedia, lol
