People always say you shouldn't rush growing up, so I'm saving my adulthood for when they put me in the incinerator 😜😂

I always tell people, I have get get older but I don’t have to grow up.

“Mature” is just the commonly-accepted word for “boring as hell in a way your child self never would tolerate”. And honestly I cant fathom why that would be the ideal.

I can’t imagine being mature the way normal people strive to be. They walk places instead of skipping, running, jumping. They don’t stop to look at bugs and tiny plants. They don’t marvel at the tiny construction equipment used in urban environments. They don’t ride shopping carts, or spin in spinny chairs. They don’t pretend the slight delay on automatic doors is because they’re too sneaky, maybe invisible, and start waving frantically at the sensor. They don’t start dancing, poorly, to punctuate awkward statements.

Basically they care what people think of them and strive for uniformity, like why even bother at that point? So boring, so average, so “mature”.
